Where White Noise Lite is the stronger pick
White Noise Lite's big advantage is price: it's free, with no subscription, and its listing (as of October 30, 2026) still packs in a lot: 50+ sounds including five noise colors, a Mix Pad, the ability to record and loop your own sounds, alarms and timers that fade, a nightstand clock, and downloads from the White Noise Market. If ads don't bother you, few apps here give you more for nothing. And if they do, TMSOFT's full version, without ads, costs $0.99, which is less than a month of most subscriptions.
Who should pick which

- You want sleep sounds plus help winding down: SleepBetter.ai: Coach & Sounds, our app. 140+ sleep sounds, up to three sounds plus a brainwave beat with separate volumes, a sleep timer that fades the whole mix, all-night play with the screen locked, and an AI sleep coach. The free tier includes 7 sounds with no account. Premium is $4.99/month, or $29.99/year with a 7-day free trial. Where White Noise Lite is ahead: it's free with no subscription, and you can record your own sounds.
