Rain on a cabin window at night: save this for tonight
Is rain your sleep sound? Twenty seconds of soft rain against a cabin window at night, straight from our 8-hour version. Save it, and play the full one when the lights go out.

What it is
A vertical clip from the opening minutes of our 8-hour rain on a cabin window, before the long version dims its screen, brightened slightly so the drops on the glass show up on a phone. Two lines of text sit over it: “Is rain your sleep sound?” and “Save this for tonight”, with the name of the full video. Our earlier 2 AM cabin window Short uses the same window in a darker, POV style.
How to use it
Treat it as a quick test. Listen with your eyes closed: if the soft tick of drops on glass makes your shoulders drop, rain is probably a good sleep sound for you, and the full 8 hours is the one to play tonight on a speaker across the room. If it feels too busy, a smoother sound like brown noise might suit you better. You can also mix rain with other sounds and set a timer in our free browser player.
Best for
Deciding on a sleep sound before bed, saving something calm for later, and anyone who already loves rain and wants a reminder to put it on. Our rain sounds guide compares soft rain, heavy rain and storms.
Sound design note
The sound is the long video’s own audio, rain generated by SleepBetter’s sound engine rather than recorded, so there is no traffic, voices or wildlife hidden in it. It is mixed for a whole night at low volume; our safe volume guide has tips for setting a level you can leave on.
How this was made
Footage: real stock video of rain on a window (Pexels), graded and cropped by SleepBetter, from our 8-hour version. Audio: rain generated by SleepBetter’s own sound engine. Text overlay by SleepBetter. No voice.
